Transform me...

This is my absolute favourite part of the project, the fashion illustrations! I always leave them until the last minute and when i finally get down to drawing them i realise how much i love it. I never learn! I have uploaded a few of my fashion illustrations, im really pleased with the way they have turned out actually, i usually draw everything by hand but this time i thought i would be brave and use photoshop, even though technology is not my friend! They are no where near perfect and i would alter them if i had more time, but then again, i suppose everyone could acheive perfection if we had just a little more time...

A few of the Finalists...

After producing my paperwork samples, i decided to choose my favourite 8 and then reproduce them in fabric. Above are images of four of the final 8 designs i have created. im really pleased with the way they turned out because sometimes what works on paper doesnt always work in fabric. To brighten up the samples i have chosen a few key colours which will accent the darker colour pallette and denim backgrounds.

Although i am pleased with my designs i am unsure about which market they are suitable for, i think i am leaning more towards Topshop because of the quirky, abstract designs and use of colour.

LaundryProject...

To begin with, i have to be perfectly honest, i was more than a little hesitant to make a start on the brief. Mainly because there were too many things i wanted to incorporate! The main ideas i have used as a focal point for my project are that of symbols from care labels, recycling garments and the distressing and finishing of fabrics, in my case denim.

I've also been experimenting with distorting the care label symbols and using them in more abstract ways to create collage, pattern and textures in paperwork samples. The image to the left shows a denim sample that i have bleached, dyed and embroidered and i have also uploaded a few images of my favourite developmental work.
